Gold and Silver
Generally, sparkle in any form will charm everyone during this Christmas season. Gold and silver gowns or gold and silver accents (such as delicate sequins) will add sparkle to the holiday festivities. Almost every Christmas outfit includes gold or silver in one way or another – fabric, accessory, or accent. Silver and gold skirts with bodices in beautiful rich colors are expected to be a big trend for the holidays. Even sparkling coats and boleros are in style for the coming season!
A stretch velvet bodice with a silver and brown flocked taffeta skirt creates a unique look. A dark red pure silk dress with a gold organza sash offers outstanding style. Metallics will sparkle during Christmas 2011. Most likely, that trend will continue for future Christmases. Young girls will always want to sparkle and shine during the Yuletide season.
Black and White
A little contrast is bound to create interest. Designers believe that this year’s Christmas dresses in white and black will change the way we look at holiday fashions. The classic appeal of black and the sheer purity of white combine in elegant style.
A velvet flutter sleeve bodice with a tea length flocked taffeta skirt will start “hearts a flutter.” Choose a cap sleeve black velvet bodice with a black and white striped taffeta skirt. Create a ‘wow’ effect! Pick a sparkling black swing coat or bolero to wear over a brilliant white gown. The delightful contrast will make an intense fashion statement.
Icy Blue
Christmas colors are not limited to red, green, and the metallics. Rich colors, such as deep burgundy and chocolate brown, are also holiday favorites. In recent years, more and more pastels are showing up in Christmas fashions.
It is not surprising to see pastels for girls’ holiday dresses. Every girl wants to feel pretty at Christmas. It is hard to feel anything less than perfect in flowing fabrics and soft pastels.
Yet this year it seems that one pastel is outshining the rest. Icy blue is a cool, soft shade – a color in perfect harmony with the freshness of winter. This shade has a refreshing and invigorating effect. Icy blue is revitalizing girls’ Christmas fashions.
Soft blue can combine with navy blue in velvet and organza creations. A frosted blue tea length taffeta dress with holiday-inspired velvet designs is a keeper. Even brighter blues such as turquoise will be making an impression during this holiday season. A turquoise satin pick up dress with a bolero jacket is a terrific choice for a girl’s Christmas party dress.
Christmas Flowers
Beautiful blooms are showing up on this year’s Christmas gowns. After all, stunning flower arrangements are part of the Yuletide season – from religious ceremonies to home decoration. It was only a matter of time before floral patterns were found on girls’ holiday dresses. As well, pretty blooms are a pleasant reminder of the spring season that lies in waiting.
A classic black taffeta dress sprinkled with bright blooms, a fuchsia waistband, and bright pink flower is bound to liven up any celebration. For optimum elegance, choose an ivory jacquard dress with gold floral print as well as a splendid sash and lovely rosebud. Christmas 2011 will be about silver and gold, as well as exciting contrast, stunning florals, and sensational color. Merry Christmas!
